Home, School and Daycare Section

The Fiskars Home, School and Daycare Team operates as an independent team under the Fiskars Village Association, with the aim of promoting the well-being of children attending school and daycare in Fiskars and enabling experiences that are not always possible within everyday school life.

The members of the section are active parents of children in the school and daycare center. Their main task is to seek funding, develop ideas, and organize various activities and events in cooperation with the staff. Parents can participate according to their own resources – even small contributions are valuable. Well-being is built through many small efforts, and you are warmly welcome to take part in this committed and diverse activity where the best interests of the children are always the main focus.

In 2019, a collaboration was launched between Tako rf, the Village Association, the Home and School section, and Fiskars School. From a joint working group grew the project “Our School,” which now operates as an independent working group. The group consists of Maria Zitting (Tako rf), Kati Peiponen and Nuppu Mäkinen (the team), Executive Director Hanna Räisänen and Chairperson Emma Heiniluoma from the Village Association, as well as Principal Anne Koivuporras.

The aim is to develop the school’s learning environments in accordance with the current curriculum, improve comfort and well-being, and support teaching.

During the years 2022–2024, several concrete improvements to the learning environment and overall well-being were carried out in cooperation with the school staff and through children’s workshops. In 2025, the project continues with a marketing campaign for the village school, including new websites and improved visibility.
